Birmingham · Alabama
BuildAlabama is a nonprofit connecting founders to the local businesses that need technology solved — then launching them through the 4C Accelerator.
In collaboration with Vanguard Development Collective · Polaris · 4C Accelerator
The Problem
Birmingham has businesses with real technology problems and people ready to build companies — but no engine bringing the two together.
Local employers and corporations need software and automation, but lack nimble builders to solve it.
Talented people build speculatively, with no validated demand or revenue path to anchor them.
Accelerators take companies that already exist. Nobody creates the company from a real need.
Our Model
We build companies with a customer attached from day one — lowering founder risk and creating measurable local impact.
We collect real tech problems from Birmingham businesses as one-page briefs.
We put founders in front of those briefs at showcases and office hours.
Matched founders enter the 4C Accelerator: $2,000 plus training and mentorship.
New companies hire, become references, and feed the next cycle.
